NEBOSH, like organisations around the world, is adapting to the challenges and opportunities presented by the COVID-19 pandemic.
We want people to feel safe when organising or attending a NEBOSH assessment. We have therefore brought forward and expanded plans to offer remote and online assessments for our range of qualifications and courses.
The first phase of this project is to introduce open book examinations (OBE) for units NG1, IG1, NGC1 and IGC1. These units are part of the National and International General Certificate, the National and International Certificate in Fire Risk Management, and the National and International Certificate in Construction Health and Safety.
This will replace invigilated paper-based examinations and enable learners to sit their NEBOSH assessment in their own home or another safe and suitable location.
Following the first examination in August, we have now confirmed two additional OBE dates for 2020 and three dates for 2021:
- Wednesday 28 October 2020
NG1, NGC1, IG1 and IGC1, available in English language only
From December onwards, IG1 and IGC1 are available in English, Arabic, French, Portuguese (European), Russian, Spanish (European) and Turkish. NG1 and NGC1 will be available in English language only.
- Wednesday 2 December 2020
- Wednesday 3 February 2021
- Wednesday 7 April 2021
- Wednesday 9 June 2021
Learners wishing to sit this examination must register via their Learning Partner.
A review of the assessments of other NEBOSH qualifications will follow; any alternatives we introduce will continue to provide the rigour and recognition people expect from a NEBOSH qualification whilst being safer for the learner during the COVID-19 pandemic and beyond.
For anyone waiting to sit any other unit please click here to find the latest information for your assessment or examination.
