Unit NDEM2 assignment guidance

This assignment will assess a candidate’s knowledge and understanding of the taught content from Unit NDEM2; it will also assess some knowledge and understanding from Unit ED1 eg, pollution prevention controls for activities causing air pollution.  It is, therefore, essential that candidates have completed their study of both units before attempting this assessment.

Candidates will be required to review and critically analyse their organisation’s environmental management system (EMS) under eight different headings and provide recommendations for improving the EMS.  The EMS can be either a formal (certified) or informal (uncertified) system.

The ‘Guidance and information for candidates’ document can be downloaded by clicking on the ‘Related files’ link on the right-hand side of this page.  The guidance document provides comprehensive instructions on the presentation and submission of the assignment report and should be studied carefully.  It is also recommended that the guidance be read in conjunction with the assignment mark scheme, which is at the back of the guidance document.

The assignment must be submitted electronically to NEBOSH by the relevant submission date and will be marked by NEBOSH.  Details relating to submission of the assignment will be sent to the candidate via email following their registration.

The candidate’s accredited course provider will be able to confirm the candidate’s eligibility to take the NDEM2 assignment.

The first submission date for this assessment is February 2018.
