Are you involved in managing premises that fall within the scope of the standard duty requirements of the Terrorism (Protection of Premises) Act 2025 (commonly known as Martyn’s Law)? In the wake of the Manchester (UK) Arena attack in 2017 and with the 2025 Act having received Royal Assent, protective security and organisational preparedness is more critical than ever for businesses.

Health and safety professionals have skills that can support their organisations comply with the new legislation when it comes into force. Martyn’s Law introduces familiar principles such as risk assessment, reasonable practicability, and coordinated action among duty holders, all areas where occupational safety and health (OSH) expertise is essential.

By investing in counter terrorism awareness training, organisations can strengthen their ability to protect communities, applying occupational safety and health principles to both prevent and respond to terrorist threats.
