14,000 NEBOSH assessments taken in Africa in past 12 months

The number of people taking NEBOSH assessments in the African region has more than tripled since 2010.

Figures released by NEBOSH show that over 14,000 of its health, safety and environmental assessments were taken in the region over the past 12 months, compared to around 4,500 in 2010.

“We’re delighted by this growth in the region,” said Stuart Naylor, NEBOSH International Manager. “As an international vocational examinations body we see a clear link between economic development and improving standards in health, safety and environmental management.

“A better qualified workforce means fewer lives lost, fewer injuries and greater protection from environmental damage, which in turn can have a knock on effect in terms of reputation and trade.”

NEBOSH will be exhibiting at OSH Africa 2014, giving employers, safety managers, and training providers the chance to learn more about its range of globally recognised qualifications and the benefits they can bring.

The event is taking place from the 13 -15 May 2014 at the Gallagher Convention Centre, Johannesburg, South Africa and NEBOSH will be at stand B5. For further information about OSH Africa, visit www.oshexpoafrica.com
