Following a NEBOSH visit to South Africa, Saiosh confirmed that it continues to recognise NEBOSH qualifications as part of its membership requirements. Its recognition now includes the latest specification of the NEBOSH International General Certificate (2025), which meets the academic requirements for Technical membership (TechSaiosh), and the latest specification of the NEBOSH Level 6 International Diploma for Occupational Health and Safety Management Professionals (2023), which meets the academic requirements for Graduate membership (GradSaiosh).
Phil Johnson, Director of Business Development at NEBOSH, said: “We are delighted that Saiosh has extended its recognition to include the latest specifications of the International General Certificate and Level 6 International Diploma. This recognition supports health and safety professionals in South Africa to progress their membership and demonstrates the continued value of NEBOSH qualifications around the world.”
This recognition provides a clear route for career progression for health and safety professionals in South Africa. It also reinforces the value of NEBOSH qualifications for learners, employers and Learning Partners, ensuring they remain aligned with recognised industry standards.
Technical and Graduate membership of Saiosh gives health and safety professionals access to member benefits including professional registration, digital membership certification, free CPD, OHS workshops and webinars, e-learning, legal updates and advice, networking opportunities, industry news, conferences and a career portal. Eligibility for each professional designation also depends on Saiosh’s relevant experience and application requirements.
