NEBOSH to exhibit at A-OSH EXPO

Wednesday, 3 April 2019

NEBOSH (National Examination Board in Occupational Health and Safety) will be attending A-OSH Expo in Johannesburg this year.

Join the team on Stand B04 to gain an insight into NEBOSH’s range of internationally recognised qualifications, in particular the progression from Award level and NEBOSH International General Certificate to the NEBOSH International Diploma and beyond.

More than 80,000 people across the world hold a NEBOSH International General Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety. It provides people with skills and competencies that can be applied wherever they work and has helped many thousands of people to advance their health and safety career or progress to higher study such as a NEBOSH Diploma.

Using the practical skills gained from the International General Certificate, David Ongesa was able to implement new ideas that reduced Lost Time Injuries by 75%. His achievements caught the eye of his current employer and David now works as Occupational Safety, Health and Environment Manager for ARM Cement Plc in Kenya.

David said: “The main benefit of the knowledge I have gained is what I have been able to contribute to my colleagues and the society we live in. I’m incredibly proud that my expertise has been recognised at a national level and was recently named ‘National Volunteer Occupational Safety and Health Research Ambassador’ as part of Kenyan President Uhuru Kenyatta’s Big Four Agenda.”

For those wishing to advance their studies, the NEBOSH International Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety is a popular progression route. Kelvin Opara, originally from Nigeria and now a Freelance Health and Safety Consultant in Abu Dhabi holds both the International General Certificate and International Diploma.

Kelvin added: “There have been so many times that my NEBOSH qualifications have helped me in my work. The International Diploma syllabus is quite broad, covering a lot of different topics. I now get to put the knowledge I gained into practice daily at work. Gaining the qualification has also given me the confidence I need when I’m talking to management.”

A-OSH takes place on 14-16 May 2019 at the Gallagher Convention Centre, Johannesburg, South Africa. For further information or to register, visit: https://www.aosh.co.za/
