NEBOSH, a global charity providing health, safety and environmental qualifications and services, has appointed Fabienne Bailey and Stuart Smith to its Board of Trustees.

The appointments strengthen the Board’s expertise in learning and assessment and international business development, supporting the delivery of NEBOSH’s strategic goals: to provide high-quality qualifications that equip learners with the tools they need to thrive, and to become the preferred occupational health and safety qualification provider globally.

Fabienne Bailey is Chief Executive Officer of Gateway Qualifications, a fellow charitable awarding organisation. She brings extensive experience in learning and assessment, along with a strong track record in digital transformation and international growth. Fabienne also has significant expertise in regulatory compliance and quality assurance frameworks, and has expressed strong alignment with NEBOSH’s mission and values, including its Social Purpose Programme. Fabienne said: “I am very honoured to be appointed to the NEBOSH board and look forward to bringing new skills and experiences to help shape the future direction of such an impactful awarding organisation.”

Stuart Smith is the Chief Executive Officer of NCUK, one of the largest global providers of transnational education pathways, operating in 48 countries and partnering with around 60 universities. He has led significant international growth in the higher education sector and brings valuable insight into global markets, partnerships and commercial development. He said: “I am delighted to be joining the NEBOSH Board of Trustees. NEBOSH plays a vital role in improving health, safety, and environmental standards around the world, and I look forward to supporting its continued success and global impact.”

Rob Hull, NEBOSH Chair, added: “I am delighted to welcome Fabienne and Stuart. At a critical time when we are contemplating further strategic developments for NEBOSH over the coming years, it will be good to have such valuable additions to the board.”
