Fuelling Career Confidence: the impact of training on job performance

Wednesday, 5 July 2023

Ian Cooke, Head of Corporate and Consumer Services delivered a webinar on 'Fuelling Career Confidence: the impact of training on job performance' with Simon Whitmore, Outdoor Education Officer (Standards & Effectiveness) at West Sussex County Council with the Learning Performance Institute.

The session delved into the crucial relationship between training and job performance, whilst also building career confidence.

Using West Sussex County Council as a case study, we explored the challenges their employees faced in their day-to-day work and discuss effective strategies that aligned their training content with these challenges and ultimately influenced behavioural change.

It highlighted the role of training as a catalyst for developing the skills, knowledge, and mindset necessary to overcome common workplace challenges such as questions around how to build a learning culture and how to embed learning into the flow of work. By strengthening learner engagement, we can enhance motivation, job satisfaction, and overall performance.
