All NEBOSH Diploma holders can join the NEBOSH Alumni for free. It’s a fantastic way to access exclusive events, technical information and network with other Alumni members.

If you have received an email inviting you to join, you will be able to register automatically now on the NEBOSH Alumni website. You will need your learner number without the leading zeros and your email address at the time of registering. 

If you are a diploma holder and would like to join but have not received an invitation, maybe because your email address has changed since you completed your studies, we can arrange this for you. Please email [email protected] supplying your name, date of birth, learner number and the NEBOSH qualifications you hold so we can verify your eligibility and register you.

NEBOSH Certificate Qualifications

International Institute of Risk and Safety Management (IIRSM)

The following NEBOSH qualifications are accredited by the International Institute of Risk and Safety Management (IIRSM) as meeting the academic requirements for Associate Membership (AIIRSM).

  • National Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety 
  • National Certificate in Construction Health and Safety 
  • National Certificate in Fire Safety and Risk Management 
  • International General Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety 
  • International Certificate in Construction Health and Safety 
  • International Certificate in Fire Safety and Risk Management 
  • National Diploma Part 1 (no longer available to new learners)

Association for Project Safety (APS)

The following qualifications meet the headline entrance criteria requirements for Construction Safety Associate membership (AaPS) of the Association for Project Safety (APS).

  • National Certificate in Construction Health and Safety 
  • International Certificate in Construction Health and Safety

Institute of Fire Prevention Officers (IFPO)

The following qualifications meet the qualification requirements for Technician membership (TIFPO) of the Institute of Fire Prevention Officers (IFPO) and each qualification meets the academic requirements for Associate Membership (AMIFPO). 

  • National Certificate in Fire Safety and Risk Management 
  • International Certificate in Fire Safety and Risk Management

Qualification holders with the relevant skills and experience may also apply to join the IFPO Fire Risk Assessors register.

NB: This only applies to learners sitting the April 2013 specification (or later) for either qualification. Examinations for the April 2013 specifications commenced from 1 January 2014.

NEBOSH Diploma Qualifications

South African Institute of Occupational Safety and Health (Saiosh)

Current Technical members (TechSaiosh) can now upgrade to Graduate Membership (GradSaiosh) using the NEBOSH International Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety to meet the membership level’s academic requirements.

Board of Certified Safety Professionals (BCSP)

The National Diploma for Occupational Health and Safety Management Professionals is recognised as a Qualified Equivalent Program (QEP) by the Board of Certified Safety Professionals (BCSP), meeting the qualified credential requirement for the Transitional Safety Practitioner (TSP) certification.

APS

Holders of either the NEBOSH National or International Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety and either the NEBOSH National or International Certificate in Construction Health and Safety meet the headline entrance criteria requirements for Registered Construction Safety Practitioner (RMaPS) membership of the Association for Project Safety (APS).

Institution of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH)

NEBOSH qualifications can support you in your application for IOSH membership. The membership category you are eligible for will depend on your experience and qualifications. For current guidance on membership categories and entry requirements please visit the IOSH website.

Holders of the following qualifications may use the specified designatory letters after their name:

The Institute of Fire Prevention Officers (IFPO) is a fire safety professional membership body. The IFPO’s aims and objectives include: 

  • To promote the advancement of fire safety education generally
  • To maintain high professional standards amongst members
  • To direct anyone with a need for fire safety information to those members with the skills and knowledge to satisfy that need
  • To encourage appraisal, evaluation, research and study in the field of fire safety
  • To represent the interests of members on bodies and committees dealing with statutory controls, regulations, standards and codes of practice
  • To promote international liaison amongst fire safety professionals
  • To maintain an approved Competency Council Register of Fire Risk Assessors
