NEBOSH announces recipients of 2026 health and safety scholarship
Tuesday, 14 July 2026
NEBOSH has announced the recipients of its 2026 Michael Adamson NEBOSH Diploma Scholarship.
This annual programme awards twenty recipients with paid-for study for the NEBOSH Level 6 National or International Diploma for Occupational Health and Safety Management Professionals. The scholarship is named in memory of Michael Adamson, who lost his life in a preventable workplace incident, and aims to support academic and career progression for aspiring health and safety practitioners. By providing educational opportunities, NEBOSH hopes that scholarship recipients will positively influence health and safety so that other families do not experience the loss of a loved one.
This year’s recipients were selected by a judging panel which included NEBOSH Diploma holders Yasmina Emad and Simon Toseland, NEBOSH's Dee Arp and Matt Powell-Howard, and Louise Adamson, Michael's sister and NEBOSH Ambassador. The panel commented on the compelling nature of this year’s applications, with many applicants sharing personal motivations and ambitions to improve workplace safety. They also noted that the scholarship continues to play an important role in keeping Michael’s memory alive by inspiring others to make a difference.
