Below you will find information on how to verify your NEBOSH certificate. Please read below to find the most suitable method to verify the certificate.

Guidance for Learners (owner of the certificate)

All certificates issued from October 2019 include a QR Code. This can be used for the verification process. Alternatively, there is the Online Verification Service. Details on how to follow each process are outlined below:

If the certificate was issued before February 2007, you will need to submit the Manual Verification Request Form.

Verify your Certificate Using the QR Code

1.         Scan the QR Code

  • All certificates issued from October 2019 onwards have a QR code in the bottom-right corner.
  • Use a smart device (phone or tablet) to scan the QR code on your certificate.
  • Important Information: Scanning the QR code on a genuine NEBOSH certificate will take you to: https://nebosh-validation.verisecure.org

2.         Enter Your Details

  • Provide your personal information: Name, Organisation and Email address.
  • When asked for Organisation, enter: Learner

3.         Approve the Email Request

  • You will receive an email at the address NEBOSH has on record for you. Approval request emails will only be sent from: Veri-Secure, [email protected].
  • Open the email and click Approve to confirm the verification. You have 2 days to Approve your request before this expires.
  • If you do not receive the authentication email, we may hold a different email on your learner record. Complete the Change of Details Request Form to update (Once NEBOSH have confirmed your email has been updated, you can submit your request again – see Step 1).

4.         Receive Verification Result

  • After Approval, you will receive an email confirming if the certificate is genuine.

5.         Update Personal Details (If needed)

  • If your Date of Birth is incorrect on the confirmation email, complete a Change of Details Request Form.
  • Once NEBOSH have confirmed your record has been updated, complete the process again to receive the email confirmation with the correct Date of Birth.

Verify your Certificate Using the Online Verification Service

1. Open the Online Verification Service

2. Enter Your Details

  • Provide your personal information: Name, Organisation and Email address.
  • When asked for Organisation, enter: Learner.

3. Enter Certificate Details

  • Learner Name (exactly as shown on the certificate)
  • Certificate Master Log Number (found on the front or back of the certificate)
  • Date of Achievement (issue date printed on the certificate)

4. Approve the Email Request

  • You will receive an email at the address NEBOSH has on record for you. Approval request emails will only be sent from: Veri-Secure, [email protected].
  • Open the email and click "Approve" to confirm the verification. You have 2 days to approve your request before this expires.
  • If you do not receive the authentication email, we may hold a different email on your learner record. Complete the Change of Details Request Form to update (Once NEBOSH have confirmed your email has been updated you can submit your request again – see Step 1).

5. Receive Verification Result

  • After Approval, you will receive an email confirming if the certificate is genuine.

6. Update Personal Details (If needed)

  • If your Date of Birth is incorrect on the confirmation email, complete a Change of Details Request Form.
  • Once NEBOSH have confirmed your record has been updated, complete the process again to receive the email confirmation with the correct Date of Birth.

Guidance for Employers

All certificates issued from October 2019 include a QR Code. This can be used for the verification process. Alternatively, there is the Online Verification Service. Details on how to follow each process are outlines below:

If the certificate was issued before February 2007, you will need to submit the Manual verification request form.

Recruitment agencies and educational institutions may also use this process to verify a certificate held by somebody else.

Verify a Certificate Using the QR Code

2. Enter Your Details

  • You will be asked to provide your personal information: Name, Organisation and Email address.
  • The verification request cannot proceed without this.

3. Certificate Holder Approval

  • An email is sent to the certificate owner asking them to confirm the request.
  • They can either Approve or Deny the request.

4. Receive Verification Result

  • If the holder Approves, you will receive an email confirming if the certificate is genuine. Emails will only be sent from: Veri-Secure,[email protected].
  • If the holder Denies, the verification will be rejected.
  • If no response by the owner is given within 2 days, the request expires. Please submit the request again and contact the learner to check their emails to approve the request.

2. Enter Your Details

  • Provide your personal information: Name, Organisation and Email address.
  • The request cannot proceed without this.

3. Enter Certificate Holder Details

  • Learner Name (exactly as shown on the certificate)
  • Certificate Master Log Number (found on the front or back of the certificate)
  • Date of Achievement (issue date printed on the certificate)

4. Submit Form for Certificate Holder Approval

  • If all details match NEBOSH records, an email is sent to the certificate owner asking them to confirm the request.
  • They can either Approve or Deny the request.
