10,000 NEBOSH exams taken in Africa in past 12 months

As many as 10,000 NEBOSH examinations have been taken in the Sub Saharan African region over the past 12 months. Hotspots include South Africa, Nigeria and Ghana, with NEBOSH qualifications being sought after in over 20 African nations. Just 4 years ago, fewer than 2,000 NEBOSH examinations were taken in Sub Saharan Africa.

“We’re delighted by this growth in the region,” said Stuart Naylor, NEBOSH International Manager. “As an international vocational examinations body we see a clear link between economic development and improving standards in health, safety and environmental management.

“A better qualified workforce means fewer lives lost, fewer injuries and greater protection from environmental damage, which in turn can have a knock on effect in terms of reputation and trade.”

NEBOSH will again be exhibiting at OSH Expo Africa event this year, giving employers, safety managers, training providers and officials the chance to learn more about its range of globally recognised qualifications, and the benefits they can bring.

The trade exhibition and seminar programme is taking place at the Gallagher Convention Centre in Johannesburg, South Africa between 18 and 20 June 2013.

NEBOSH is exhibiting on Stand B5. For further information about the OSH Expo Africa event, visit www.oshexpoafrica.com.  To register for this event please click here.
