What next?

Unit NGC1 also forms part of the National Certificate in Construction Health and Safety and the National Certificate in Fire Safety and Risk Management, allowing those that have achieved NGC1 within the last five years to be exempted from retaking this unit.  This is designed to facilitate progression to further NEBOSH Certificate-level qualifications.

NEBOSH recognises that some holders of a NEBOSH Certificate may wish to progress to a professional qualification route, such as the NEBOSH National Diploma.  While successful completion of one of the certificates is not mandatory in order to enrol on the National Diploma, it is strongly recommended given the Diploma syllabus assumes knowledge equivalent to having undertaken such a programme of study.

Professional Membership

Holders of the National General Certificate are entitled to Associate Membership (AIOSH) of the Institution of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH). The qualification also meets the academic requirements for Technical Membership (Tech IOSH) of IOSH and Associate Membership (AIIRSM) of the International Institute of Risk and Safety Management (IIRSM)..
