NEBOSH helps employers, recruiters, educational institutions and other similar bodies confirm that an individual holds a genuine NEBOSH qualification or certificate. This ensures organisations can help maintain workplace safety, and prevents fraud.

By verifying the qualifications of prospective employees, you can help identify the validity of a certificate and deter candidates from using false information. You will also be confirming that employees hold the qualifications and skills you are asking for.

Protecting Your Credentials: Safety and Reporting

As NEBOSH certificates are considered valuable, some organisations take advantage of this and attempt to sell fake certificates to individuals who have not completed the required training or assessments. But there are steps you can take to keep your information safe and help make it harder for others to create fake documents.

Online Verifications

If the certificate was issued any time after February 2007, you can use the Online Verification Service to submit your verification request.

Alternatively, if your certificate has a QR Code (Certificates issued after October 2019) you can scan the QR Code which takes you to the Online Verification Service.

To submit a request for an Online Verification, please see NEBOSH Online Verifications. There will also be further guidance on the process.

NEBOSH Online Verification

Manual Verifications

If the certificate was issued before February 2007 or you do not have a copy of the certificate, you must complete the Manual Verification Request Form.

To request a Verification of a Unit Result Notification (URN) letter, you must complete the Manual Verification Request Form and attach your results letter.

Please complete the Manual Verification Request Form and attach a copy of the proof of consent from the learner (if you are not the learner), and a copy of the certificate (if available). Once we have all the required information, a response via email will be received within 5 working days to confirm the authenticity of the certificate and/or if the learner has achieved a NEBOSH Qualification.
