HSE chair praises NEBOSH diploma holders at annual graduation ceremony

In a rousing speech Martin Temple CBE, Chair of the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) praised the achievements of those who had achieved a NEBOSH Diploma in the past year.

During the last 12 months, nearly 1,000 people from across the globe have completed a NEBOSH Diploma level qualification. More than 230 of these successful students travelled from across the world to celebrate at this year’s NEBOSH Graduation and Awards Ceremony, held at the University of Warwick.

Among those honoured were the latest holders of the NEBOSH Diploma in Regulatory Occupational Health and Safety; a qualification developed for the Health and Safety Executive (HSE), by NEBOSH, for all new health and safety inspectors.

Speaking to all graduates who attended, Martin Temple said: “This ceremony marks your success in gaining a well-regarded and sought after qualification, not just here in the UK but worldwide. They are qualifications which will enable you to make a difference to the lives of many people who will benefit from safer and healthier working environments.”

NEBOSH qualifications are valued by professionals and highly sought after by employers; in NEBOSH’s latest jobs barometer research 90% of UK job advertisements for safety, health and environmental (SHE) roles specified one of its qualifications. This continued recognition helps to explain why 50,000 people from over 120 countries choose to take a NEBOSH qualification every year.
