Health, safety and environmental examinations body NEBOSH has announced two new appointments to its Board of Trustees.
NEBOSH said the appointments of Derrick Farthing and Gail Burfitt to its Board would bring valuable experience and knowledge to the organisation.
Derrick Farthing has a strong engineering and business background, which includes management within multinational organisations.
As Director of Powergen’s science and engineering business Power Technology, Derek led change which generated considerable growth in turnover and profits. During the same period he was Chairman and CEO of E.ON Projects Consultancy Ltd, an overseas consultancy provider. He currently serves as Chairman of the Energy Institute (EI) Power Utilities Committee and as vice chair of EI’s Science and Technology Advisory Committee.
Gail Burfitt is Health and Safety Commercial Training Manager at Bridgwater College in Somerset. As well as managing staff and developing courses at the College, she delivers training and is responsible for marketing. Before working in education Gail served in HM Prison Service.
As a Trustee, Gail will represent Public Sector Course Providers on the NEBOSH Board.
